carpet cleaning is more time consuming and involved than cleaning your drapes or bedspreads. They are made up of materials that are heavier, thicker, and can accumulate more dust and germs.

Keeping carpets clean and free of dust, dirt and grime is important for your families health. It's particularly important for families that have small children, babies and toddlers who spend a lot of time down on the floor. Hiring a professional carpet cleaner is expensive and not always the best thing for the carpet or your family.

Vacuuming on a regular basis is an important for carpet maintenance. Aside from vacuuming the carpet at least once a week, dusting the entire house regularly might also help to prevent the dust accumulation from happening.

Daily foot traffic, the kids eating and drinking and the pets can all contribute to how much dirt your carpets accumulate.

Shaving cream can be effective for those stubborn stains that have been allowed to dry. You just need to apply a liberal amount of it on the stained area and let it sit for at least thirty minutes. After this, the affected area should be rubbed off with a piece of cloth or rinsed with white vinegar.

Various chemical solutions are likewise available in supermarkets. These are manufactured to get rid of grease in carpets. Extra caution is needed, though, because these chemicals usually have strong odor and have side effects to respiratory system.

Mud from from pet and people traffic often is the biggest problem people have. The best way to get rid of mud is to let it dry completely first before attempting to remove it. Removing a soft mud off the carpet might just double your burden since you are just likely to grind it deeper through the fibers than removing it. After letting it dry and shaving the clumps, it is best to vacuum the next day to completely remove stubborn stains.

Another difficult carpet stain to remove is a bloodstain. The trick is to soak the blooded area with cold water and wash it immediately with warm water and soap. For light-colored carpets, hydrogen peroxide is recommended but with strictly cautious use to protect the color of the carpet. Test hydrogen peroxide in small hidden area to make certain that the carpet color is not affected. Share on Facebook
